1. The Reserve Bank signed a SAARC currency swap agreement with the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan (RMBA). Under the arrangement, RMBA can make withdrawals of US dollar, euro and rupee in multiple tranches of up to a maximum of USD 100 million or its equivalent.

रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने भूटान की रॉयल मॉनिटरी अथॉरिटी (आरएमएबी) के साथ सार्क मुद्रा अदला-बदली समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किया। इस समझौते के बाद भूटानी अथॉरिटी किस्तों में 10 करोड़ डॉलर तक डॉलर, यूरो या रुपया निकाल सकती है।

1. India ranked 118th out of 156 countries in a global list of the happiest nations, down one slot from last year on the index and coming behind China, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Denmark is on the top spot in this list. This list is published by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), a global initiative for the United Nations.

खुश राष्ट्रों की 156 देशों की सूची में पिछले साल के मुकाबले और एक स्थान नीचे खिसकर भारत 118वें स्थान पर चला गया है। इस सूची में वह चीन, पाकिस्तान और बांग्लादेश से भी पीछे चला गया है। डेनमार्क इस सूची में शीर्ष स्थान पर है। यह सूची संयुक्त राष्ट्र की वैश्विक पहल सतत विकास समाधान नेटवर्क (एसडीएसएन ) द्वारा प्रकाशित की गयी है।

3. Public sector lender SBI has tie-up with taxi-aggregator Uber to provide instant vehicle finance to 'driver-partners' on the latter's platform. The scheme would encourage skilled drivers to overcome liquidity crunch and excess documentation requirements to become an entrepreneur.

4. The Indian government has announced that it will invest INR 69,575 crore (£7.3 billion) to increase its investment quota in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), making India one of the top ten largest members of the Fund. With the implementation of the long-pending quota reforms India, Brazil, China and Russia — would be, for the first time, among the 10 largest members of IMF.

इंटरनेशनल मोनेट्री फंड (आईएमएफ) में भारत का कोटा बढ़ाने के लिए सरकार 69,575 करोड़ रुपए का योगदान करने जा रही है। इसके साथ ही भारत आईएमएफ के 10 शीर्ष सदस्‍यों में शामिल हो जाएगा। नए सुधारों की वजह से भारत, ब्राजील, चीन और रूस पहली बार आईएमएफ के सबसे बड़े सदस्‍यों के रूप में शामिल हो जाएंगे।

1. Egyptian former foreign minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit was appointed as the new secretary general of the Arab League. According to Article 12 of the Arab League Pact, the secretary general is to be appointed upon the vote of two-thirds of the member states. Currently it has 21 members.

मिस्र के पूर्व विदेश मंत्री अहमद अबुल-गेइत अरब लीग के नए प्रमुख नियुक्त किए गए हैं। उनकी नियुक्ति महासचिव के पद पर हुई है।अरब लीग पैक्ट के अनुच्छेद 12 के अनुसार, अरब लीग के महासचिव की नियुक्ति सदस्य देशों के दो-तिहाई मतों से होती है। फिलहाल इसके सदस्यों की संख्या 21 है।

2. Union Government appointed former Supreme Court judge Justice Balbir Singh Chauhan as the chairperson of the 21st Law Commission. At present, Justice Chauhan is heading the Cauvery River Water Disputes Tribunal.

HAS is a free-to-air information distribution system that uses radio to make the travelling experience on National Highways safer, faster and hassle-free.

5. The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval for the amendment to the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (MMDR Act, 1957). The amendment will allow transfer of captive mining leases not granted through auction.

3. Largest Private sector ICICI Bank has signed an MoU with National Housing Bank (NHB) to facilitate the credit-linked subsidy to the eligible home loan borrowers under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’.

4. The Government has signed ‘Raptor MoU’ - a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on conservation of birds of prey in Africa and Eurasia. The ‘Raptor MoU’ extends its coverage to 76 species of birds of prey, out of which 46 species, including vultures, falcons, eagles, owls, hawks, kites, harriers, etc. also occur in India.

सरकार ने अफ्रीका तथा यूरेशिया की शिकारी पक्षियों के संरक्षण के लिए शिकारी पक्षी सहमति ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किया है। शिकारी पक्षियों में 76 प्रकार के पक्षी आते हैं। इनमें गिद्ध, बाज, चील, उल्लू और आक्रमक बाज सहित 46 प्रजातियां भारत में पाई जाती है।

5. North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles on the eastern coast of Wonsan town. These missiles flew about 500 km.

उत्तर कोरिया ने वोनसान शहर के पूर्वी तट से कम दूरी की दो बैलिस्टिक मिसाइलों का प्रक्षेपण किया। इन मिसाइलों ने लगभग पाच सौ किलोमीटर की दूरी तय की।

9. Singapore has been ranked the world's most expensive city to live in.Hong Kong has moved up in the ranking to the second place with Zurich in Switzerland. According to the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) latest report on worldwide cost of living, Singapore had the highest score of 116 while Zurich and Hong Kong had a score of 114.

10. The Cabinet approved a Rs. 8,000 crore scheme to provide cooking gas (LPG) connections free of cost to women members of poor households.

1. Fitch Ratings lowered India's economic growth forecast for the financial year 2016-17 to 7.7 per cent, but maintained the GDP projection for current fiscal at 7.5 per cent.

गुजरात में लिंगानुपात की स्थिति और खराब हुई है। राज्य में 2001 में प्रति 1000 पुरूषों के मुकाबले 920 महिलाएं थीं जबकि 2011 में यह संख्या कम होकर 919 रह गई है जबकि राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर लिंगानुपात औसत में इस अवधि के दौरान 10 अंकों का सुधार हुआ है। राज्य विधानसभा में 2015-16 के लिए हाल में पेश की गई सामाजिक-आर्थिक समीक्षा में यह बात सामने आई है।

6. NASSCOM Foundation has launched the Indian Public Library Movement (IPLM).The IPLM movement will start by reaching out to a million library users at 300 district-level libraries and proving them with community driven services such as computer training classes.

1. India and US agree on a joint collaboration in standardisation and improving quality of AYUSH products. The highlight of the discussions was the role of AYUSH in prevention, cure and management of cancer.A MoU is expected to be signed between Ministry of AYUSH and US Health and Human Services Departments in course of time.

2. Government will digitally connect all Post Offices in rural areas by March 2017. Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Government has approved the Department of Posts' IT Modernisation Project with the objective of modernisation, digitisation and networking of about 1,55,000 Post Offices.

The IMF agreed to include the yuan in its Special Drawing Rights basket after determining that it is "freely usable" ON 1st oct 2016.This move means the renminbi will join the other currencies that are separately identified in the IMF's quarterly survey of foreign exchange reserves: the US dollar, euro, yen, pound sterling, Swiss franc, Australian dollar and Canadian dollar. All other currencies are lumped together.

10. "China is likely to launch a Mars probe in 2020. After months of flying, the probe is expected to land in Mars at the 100th anniversary of the CPC. If successful, it will be a present from people working in the aerospace field," Ye Peijian, a top official of China's space programme, said.
